Game StoryMEMPHIS (Ticker) -- A return home was all Mike Miller and the Memphis Grizzlies needed. Miller scored 27 points to lead all five starters in double figures as the Grizzlies posted a 104-83 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in the back end of a home-and-home series. Two days earlier, Miller scored just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting as Memphis had its lowest scoring output of the season in an 80-66 loss at Portland. It was a different story in this one, however, as the Grizzlies reached triple digits for just the second time in their last 14 games. "We knew we had to win this one," Miller said. "They beat us good up there, and we came back, found some energy and made shots." Memphis took control with a 13-2 run late in the second quarter. After Shareef Abdur-Rahim's jumper drew Portland within 40-36 with five minutes remaining in the first half, Earl Watson ignited the spurt with consecutive baskets. Shane Battier and Joel Przybilla traded buckets before Miller capped the spurt with seven straight points to make it 53-38 with 25 seconds remaining in the half. "Our key tonight was to attack," Miller said. "We did it early and that helped open things up. Guys set some good screens for me, and I was able to make some shots." Richie Frahm hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and Abdur-Rahim hit a jumper one minute into the second half to cut the deficit to 10, but Portland got no closer as Battier and Watson combined for 11 points in a 13-4 run that pushed the Grizzlies' edge to 66-47 with 7:11 to go in the third. During the third period, the Blazers shot 35 percent (6-of-17) and committed seven of their 20 turnovers. "We struggled last game against them, and we all wanted to play better," Battier said. "We turned them over quite a bit and got some easy buckets and a nice win." "They just play solid team defense and we were overmatched tonight," interim Portland coach Kevin Pritchard said. "That is why this team is so good. They play great team defense and they have a lot of players who can score." Lorenzen Wright scored 19 points and Watson added 16 and seven assists for Memphis, which shot 52 percent (37-of-71) after making just 37 percent (27-of-74) in Saturday's loss. "They lost Saturday, and we knew how they were going to play us tonight," Blazers guard Damon Stoudamire said. "Defensively, we just didn't stop them, that was pretty much the game. When you let teams shoot 50 percent, it's pretty hard to beat them." Stoudamire scored 17 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for the Blazers, who fell to 1-5 under Pritchard.
