Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Steve Nash looked like the most comfortable person in America West Arena near the end of the Phoenix Suns' rout, and with good reason. Nash posted his second career triple-double with 12 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and 12 assists in less than three quarters, and watched the remainder of the Suns' 116-87 trouncing of the Philadelphia 76ers. The victory, coupled with a loss by Sacramento, gave Phoenix (54-17) its first division title since the 1994-95 season. "I am extremely happy for the guys. They deserve to be the Pacific Division champs," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We really (played great defense). They missed some shots but Steve Nash had 13 rebounds. You know when you don't win on a night like that then something is wrong." Nash finished the first half just two assists shy of his first triple-double this season. The All-Star point guard keyed a 33-8 run before halftime, helping Phoenix take a 65-41 advantage into the break. "I tried to work hard and hustle but I think there were some stars in alignment tonight," Nash said. "Playing 27 minutes was nice. During the season if you can get a few nights off like this it helps." After the 76ers took a 33-32 lead on a jumper by Allen Iverson with 8:10 left in the second period, Jim Jackson kicked off the decisive surge with four straight free throws. Quentin Richardson did plenty of damage, draining three 3-pointers in a span of just over two minutes. Nash provided eight points, seven rebounds and five assists during the spurt and eclipsed his career high of 10 boards before halftime. "We did not have what it took to stay in front of them," 76ers coach Jim O'Brien said. "They're as good as an offensive team in the NBA. I think Phoenix is so fast and every one of their perimeter guys all shoot the threes and are great drivers." Nash found Joe Johnson for a 3-pointer with his 12th assist with 2:53 left in the third quarter, putting Phoenix ahead, 85-65. He was replaced seconds later and spent the remainder of the game reclined on the baseline in his warmups, watching the Suns push the lead to as many as 31 points in the closing minutes. "Given the fact that we won 29 games last year and no one picked us to be the division champ or a playoff contender, it's a great accomplishment for the organization," Nash said. "I think we have raised the bar and having said that it is not enough." Shawn Marion scored 26 points and Johnson and Richardson 20 apiece. Richardson's third 3-pointer was his 200th this season, eclipsing Dan Majerle's 1994-95 franchise record. "(Majerle) probably did it in a more significant time," Richardson said. "I don't think they shot as many threes, so it is all relative. It was probably easier for me to get it done than him because we have a run-and-gun offense." Playing its third road game in four days, Philadelphia showed little energy after being blitzed in the second quarter and lost star forward Chris Webber when he suffered a sprained left shoulder injury and a bruised knee late in the third period. Webber hurt the knee in the first half and the shoulder in the third on a collision with Suns center Jake Voskuhl. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Philadelphia. "We feel (my shoulder) popped out just a little bit, not a lot," said Webber, who had offseason surgery on his left knee. "You should always listen to the doctor. He told me at halftime not to go back out there. I haven't tweaked my knee that bad since I injured it and if it was that bad it would have swollen up but the shoulder, I don't know. We will have to get it checked." Iverson scored 15 of his 26 points in the third quarter for the Sixers (35-36), who hold a one-game lead over Orlando in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Suns played their second straight game with out All-Star center Amare Stoudemire. They improved to 5-5 when missing a member of their starting lineup, 2-0 without Stoudemire. Phoenix has defeated Philadelphia 16 of the last 18 meetings at America West Arena and finished 14-1 against Eastern Conference teams at home this season.
